Let the children come to me !

Editor
August 21st, 2008

" But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God…"Lk 18:16-17

This story is very well known and it has a lot to teach us today. Jesus rebuked his disciples in the following way "Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not" In another version the Bible says "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them" Sometimes a bad example can be a stumbling block for a child and it can cause them not to go to Jesus.

To not be aware of children needs or to not give them an opportunity to hear the message of salvation is "Not allowing the Children to go to Jesus" We can all do something so that children will come to know Jesus or we can do nothing and become a stumbling block which will stop them from knowing Him.

Imagine this scene when Jesus said "Let the children come to me" I believe that  Jesus was  showing them by using the word "Let" that they should give the children  space and allow them past. I believe he was also saying "help them come to me", "if it's possible you bring them". "DO SOMETHING!".

Jesus left it very clear that on Gods scale of value children are important and he carrys on saying "Let the children come to me" this means WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING AND "ALLOW THEM TO GO TO JESUS."

A PASSION THAT CONSUMES

Editor
June 14th, 2008

We would like to share with all of you what God had been speaking to us during our annual base staff retreat that we hosted here in Corrientes from the 29th of May to the 1st of June.

We were accompanied by the various kings’ kids network ministries that are situated here in the north, the teachers and director of the New Generation Institute and many friends who were invited to share this time with us.

The Theme of the whole retreat was: A Passion That Consumes.

Pastor Norma Falcon shared with us and during her message mentioned that Passion has to do with an attitude of suffering or extreme desire to do something. She said that at this time we need to be set ablaze for the lost, for those who still don’t know God and we need to seek God’s face for what is in His heart and the new things he has planned.

We were also fortunate enough to spend time receiving God’s word through various YWAM leaders like David Hamilton, Lynn Green and David Olivera. And in the midst of all the hustle and bustle we set aside time to be able to communicate via skype and telephone with our missionaries who are spread out all over the world. It was a real blessing to be able to hear from then and pray for them.

Thank you to everyone who was praying for us during this time!!

Look out- here come the artists!

Editor
April 18th, 2008

Our School of Art in Missions is now officially underway. The school started on Tuesday, April 1st, with a total of eleven students- seven from Argentina, two from Mexico, one from Brazil and one from Chile.
It is the biggest art school we have had thus far at our base- and ten of the eleven students are girls!

The school covers a variety of artistic topics, with practical hands-on classes in Theatre, Clown, Graffiti, Circus, Visual Arts (Painting and Sculpture), Tango, Choreography and many other exciting mediums.
Students will also take part in a number of theory classes, learning about the character of a Christian artist, teamwork, and developing projects that focus on God’s dreams for their lives.

Taking part in creative intercession for the United Arab Emirates.

The most important focus of the school is not the development of artists and their artistic talent but rather having an encounter with our God who is a personal and creative God and to master tools in order to help others have an encounter with Him as well through the use of the redeemed arts.

The students have been very privileged to receive teachings from professional artists- the first two weeks focused on theatre and the classes were taught by Maija Doveika (a professional actress from Latvia) and Fernando Ortiz (a professional actor Chile).

During their week of "Clown", the students are learning to make balloon animals.

We know that God is working in the students’ hearts just as much as He is helping them to discover their artistic talent and we are confident that He will continue to do so in the next four months of the school.

The faithful God who guards our lives

Editor
April 17th, 2008

I would like to share with you what happened to my pastor with which whom I work with the Pygmies. Last month we travelled to visit the different bases, friends and missionaries we have here in Cameroon, we had some wonderful times. On our way home the pastor who was travelling in a different bus had an accident which almost cost him his life.

The minibus he was travelling in flipped over near a cliff edge and the amazing thing was he only hurt his chin, hands and legs. The pastor said he was certain he was going to die, but once again God took complete control.

Another testimony
Two sisters in Christ went to visit a group of Pygmies and it turns out that the community they visited was Muslim. God gave them a word and all of that community gave their lives to Christ. Glory to God for who his great love.

Don’t Descend

Editor
January 17th, 2008

"Now there was a famine in the land…. and Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar…. The Lord appeared to Isaac and said do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live…. and I will be with you and will bless you… "Gn 26:1-6; 12-13

The region of Gerar was an isolated place on the outskirts of the desert, Egypt was a good place to breed animals, and that was Isaacs occupation.

In that time there was a famine on the earth and Isaac was in Gerar…

God didn't want Isaac to go to Egypt, even though it would have been easier for him to do so. "Do not go down to Egypt " this was the order, in other words God's saying stay here and don't go even though it may seem difficult for you to do so.

Egypt symbolised this world and system of living and God warned Isaac like he warns us today. Don't go down to Egypt, the idea is to climb, grow in God and do not descend or turn back "live in the land where I tell you to live", God always has the best for us in mind.

Reflect on this, every time that you don't obey God, you start to descend…

In this new year walk in obedience what God tells you, because that's what's best for you.

His promise is "I will be with you and will bless you" so carry on and don't descend!
