Only one thing is needed.

“But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

41“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

(Luke.10:40 – 42. NIV)

In the bible we find the story of when Jesus visits Martha and Mary’s house. Reading this biblical story we notice two different points of view:  Martha’s  complaint and Mary’s attitude. One sister was so busy that she did not even have time to listen to the Teacher, the other chose what was better : sitting at Jesus’ feet! While Martha was worried with different “to-do’s”, she lost the opportunity to receive what Jesus had to say to her. And Jesus made an impacting declaration: “Only one thing is needed”.

Do you have many “to-do’s” ? How is your relationship with God? Which is most important in your life? How much time do you dedicate in seeking God? That is what’s key in life.

This new year, don’t lose the opportunity to listen to what God has to say to you, each and every day. Think abuot how only one thing is needed and decide to have a daily meeting  with God, don’t miss it! – Tere
