He went through…
“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.” (Mt.9:35 – NVI)
When Jesus was on earth, he had a mission to fulfil, He himself was a missionary who came from Heaven! The fact that He fulfilled His mission was an example to all of us. “Jesus went through all the towns” He was willing to teach, announce the good news and heal the people who were sick. He did not stand still. He did not place himself in a place of comfort but he got to work. In those times the transport systems that we know today, did not exist, we know that today we can get around pretty fast. Imagine Jesus with His feet caked in dust, tired from walking long distances, yet still willing to “Go through all the towns!” If Jesus was living here on earth in our times, He would still have been willing to reach all peoples and Nations…
I imagine that He would use the fastest planes, that He would have a personal laptop to maintain Himself communicated through the internet, and He would also use this medium to teach with.
According to statistics there are more or less 200 countries in the world, and I can assure you that Jesus would set foot on each and every one of them, visiting the villages, towns and cities, showing an interest in the people’s needs.
But we know that today, Jesus is not living on earth and that He left the work in our hands saying: “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)
For this reason we have this responsibility, this Mission, which you and I need to fulfil together with God’s guidance. Jesus’ eyes stretch over the whole earth, and they still find so much need in the human race. He needs you to fulfil your Mission! Are you will to step up to the plate?
