Chile
In the midst of so much commotion, and the great need that is so evident in Chile, we started praying and looking for ways to reach out and help in any way that we possibly can.
On the 11th of March we sent our first relief team over to Arauco, Chile; the team of 4 spent 10 days there supporting the work that is being done, the handing out of non-perishable foods, water and medicine. One of the fundamental things that the team assisted in was counselling the quake victims and their families. From the 8th to the 20th of April the second team went over, this team made up of 3 people focused their work on construction, it was hard work but they were also able to share with the local people and concider the needs they have as individuals.
God’s heart beats for missions and in response to His heart, as YWAM Corrientes, we have committed ourselves to send out one team per month for the next 6 months. In May there is a team of leaders and students from our DTS and Crossroads schools, going over to work in the construction of houses, counselling, social help, etc.
Statistics show that the work of rebuilding this nation will take 4 years, this implies that the work will continue and that there is still so much to do. In the months of June and July two more teams will be going over to continue with the work that we have started.
Missions is done with the feet of those who go, the knees of those who pray and the hands of those who give. ..
