Living Statues that Transmit Something Different
The Art Ministry was recently contacted to participate in the National Living Statue Competition, hosted by the UCES (a federal university) in Buenos Aires, on September 24, 2011. This will be the second time that the ministry will be participating as an artistic company and this year they will be taking three different statues to the competition. Selected to participate in the competition are the living statues called “Life and Spirit”, “The Nations” and “Deep Waters”. Each of these statues has a spiritual significance and was created to transmit God’s spirit in each of us, the Lord’s love for the nations, and the deep waters that all of us must explore in our personal relationship with our maker. This will be a great opportunity to bless and disciple secular artists and the ministry is very pleased and excited about this door that God has opened in Buenos Aires. You can vote for the ministry’s statues online by visiting http://www.estatuas-vivientes.com.ar.
While preparing for the living statue competition, the ministry has its hands full with the planning of an artistic exhibit on Friday, August 13 in the UNNE (National Northeastern University) in Corrientes Capital. The exhibit will feature paintings, engravings, illustrations and sculptures by artist Ricardo W. Gil, and a “living painting” by Nicole Bartels, missionaries at YWAM Corrientes, as well as numerous living statues and an artistic performance.
Everyone in the ministry is also busy rehearsing for the debut of the original musical comedy, “Welandia”, complete with original music, songs and choreography. The musical will be presented in the Galatea Theatre in Resistencia, Chaco and as well in the City Theatre in Corrientes Capital, in mid-September. Don’t miss the opportunity to spend an evening with your family laughing out loud at the adventures of these crazy and genuine characters!
