We would like to thank you once again for reading our latest news and we would also like to apologise if you did not recieve our April news letter or if you recieved it many times. Lately there have been many problems with the cities internet systems, so thank you for your patience.

Here now is our latest news: we hope that it will be a blessing for your life
and that you will be able to see the results of your prayers through them.
(Jeremiah32:27)

After 5 years of praying, sharing and waiting, Sunday 21st of May Sergio,
Graciela, Alan, and Alexis the Astarloa family arrived here to work here
with us in the mission, we are so happy to see how God has completed his plan
for this family and we thank you Lord as you are a faithful God.

We are still waiting for another team member Daniela and we continue to pray
that God would open the doors so that the finances she is lacking will
arrive so she will be able to travel here.

As you can imagine Anita and Josue are happy that there friends (Alan and
Alexis) have arrived and we are surprised at how these two in the short time they’ve been here have already made the neighbourhood rumble. Alan has made many friends even though he can’t speak the language and the smaller ones have explored the jungle at length where they say they have been looking for the wild animals that are living there. At the moment ants, small lizards and centipedes are their biggest entertainment.

We thank God that Anni has passed her first nursery year even though there
are a few days still left of her classes. We are very happy at her progress with
the language and learning. Josue can now count to ten in English and can sing
some songs in English and also in French.

In the ministry we have more and more challenges, God has really worked a miracle with the house and we would like to ask you if you would continue praying for this. I would like to share with you briefly what happened: Our neighbour unfortunitly died due to an illness but 10 days before One had the oppourtunity to speak with her, she shared with us that she used to go to church but confessed that it was hard for her to follow Jesus, we prayed for her in these days so that she could be reconciled to the Lord.

We then spoke to the owner of the house and showed our desire in renting the it, the owner not only offered us the house to rent but also said that they were willing to wait until the 30th of May for us to pay the monthly rent of $400 US. We now have the challenge of raising this money before the 30th.

We have great expectations for the Discipleship training school which
starts on the 6th of June even though we are still needing the beds, cupboards, pans, seats, tables etc.

We have been delighted in watch our bean and corn fields growing and we pray that this multiplication will become a reality in the spiritual world with the harvesting of souls and also with the formation of workers who are willing to go and share the good news of the kingdom of God. We also pray that what we see can become a reality not in a borrowed piece of land but in our own land as a missonary base.

Prayer Motives:

Pray for the residency papers for the Astarloa family as they have only been given a 30 day visa and we are looking at the posibility of prolonging thisvisa and they then will be starting their residency applications after this. Please pray also for the finances to do this.

Pray that God would provide the rest of the finances for Daniela Larrocas ticket to cameroon, if you want to get in touch with her you can do so at thefollowing email address: danielalarroca@yahoo.com.ar

Pray for the $400 that we need by the 30th of May to complete the agreementwe made with the owner of the house.

Please pray for the finances for us, the Betsin family, that God would help us complete the comittments we’ve made as a family.

Pray for the Discipleship training school and all that we need to develop it

Ok now we do say goodbye hoping that you have enjoyed like us all these
blessings of God. Please if you want to hear any specific information don’t
hesitate to write to us, thank you for sharing with us and being an active
part in this move of God here in Buea, Cameroon.

HAPPY 2006!!!!!
We are already in almost the second month of the year and the time if flying past. We want to share with you our news, thanking you for your support during 2005 and encouraging you to continue to lift up our arms (Exod 17:12) as we continue with the work of Lord in this part of the world.

FAMILY
Anna began her second quarter of classes in the first week of January (we do not yet have holidays here!!!!) She continues progressing in her learning the same as Joshua who is learning all that that his sister teaches him.

During these last days we have all come down with a bronchial virus (because of the climate). Thanks to God we are already better.

If you remember our corn plantation, we rejoice in already having gathered and eaten from this wonderful fruit of our work (unfortunately there are no pictures). Although it was an experiment as it was the first time that One and I had ever planted, we gained a lot of experience for the next sowing season in March.

MINISTRY
From the 16th to the 19th of January One was sharing in Duala, teaching in the School of Biblical studies. January 27th-29th we had our third national encounter for leaders of YWAM CAMEROON. It was a time of searching before the Lord and of making decisions for the future of the ministry in this country. For us as hosts, it was a real blessing to have been able to receive our brothers and sisters in our newly pioneered base.

OUR FRIENDS
Martin, the youth that we talked about previously, if you remember he went to take a group of brothers from his church in Sweden to work with another church in this country, had to send the team ahead of him as his mother was admitted to hospital due to diabetes that she was suffering. Let us pray for them.

Some friends of ours have also received their diplomas in the University of Buea that has approximately 8000 students. At first they were not going to give out the diplomas to this group of graduates because of the disorder that the students caused last year in the university which ended with the death of around 8 students and which destroyed the part of the public lighting efforts that had begun in the city.

However God honors his children and on January 28th, many of our friends and brothers were able to receive their diplomas.

PRAYER POINTS
Thank you for working alongside of us and for helping to sustain us through these points of prayer:

As a pioneering base, we need to keep praying for land.

We continue praying for office equipment and materials such as a computer (for we have been told by the technician that ours is irreparable) we are also praying for the installation of a fixed telephone line since we are having many communication problems with our mobile phone.

We are also praying for bilingual staff and above all for the ability to translate our documents from Spanish to French, and French to English, and we are praying about the upcoming School of Discipleship.

We continue praying that the public lighting in the area would begin again, and continue, and that we can count on the light in the main entry area for the city.

We say goodbye yearning to receive your news and we rejoice together in the work of our Lord. Until soon,

Greetings from Cameroon!!! Please excuse our delay in sending you our news, but we ask you to take some minutes to enjoy these answers to your prayers.

FAMILY
Thanks to the Lord we are very well. Anna finished her first quarter year of school on December 16 and will now enjoy her Christmas vacations here until the first days of January. We are very happy at how she is going in learning English and French. Besides these languages and Spanish, she has also begun to speak some words of the local dialects. She is a good apprentice and also a good teacher since Joshua is learning off her and is starting to desire to go to school too.

Remember our plantation of corn? We are waiting eagerly for our first fruits which should appear around the beginning of January. Some weeks ago we have begun the foundations for the perimeter wall as well as the production of the bricks to build the wall that through God we will complete by the years end. Are you wondering why it is so important?

1) For security as people use the patios of the house as a shortcut or roadway, and the whole day we see people that we don’t know hanging around the house.

2) For protection from some of the amazing creatures that live in this place. Some days ago One killed a snake in the place where Anna and Joshua play. This sort of thing makes us very nervous, but in this we saw the hand of God. One became very restless and got up to walk around, and when he left the patio he found the snake, thanks to God for His protection!!!!!!.

MINISTRY
2 Corinthians 4:18 Very clearly, as we said, we are very happy for the rapid adaption of the children, but at this time we feel like it says in this verse, that we were in a church where we were treated just like non Christians, even though the situation was sorted out and there were apologies, they are things that we sometimes find difficult to understand.

So we looked up to the sky and as we are a pioneer ministry, we continue ahead with our projects like the event of February 2006 when they celebrate here in Cameroon the National Day of Youth. This includes an Ascension of Mount Cameroon here in Buea and the preparation of the first Discipleship school for June 2006.

We are continuing to build relationships with the different churches and bases of YWAM at national level.
On December 1st is the commemoration of the International Day of the Fight Against AIDS, the new figure for Cameroon is now that 16,5% are infected.

GRATEFULNESS
To the Lord for His care, protection, provision, and for His manifested love every day in our lives.

To David, Mary, the Ministry of cCommunications and the whole YWAM family in Corrientes. Thank you for the effort and work to help us participate via phone in the Missionary Service, Thank you Chamigos.

In November the bells sounded, not because the holidays were near, but because we reached our 5th wedding anniversary. Thank you Lord for all that you have done through and in us during those years.

And the bells are sounding again and in the air you can feel Christmas coming closer. The only difference here is that most of the believers are Catholic or Protestants and they wait out their Christmas in the churches or in prayer groups. Those who don’t know the Lord spend it with their families, but there are also many that celebrate without knowing who Jesus really is, or even worse is that they don’t celebrate because they don’t know about our blessed Saviour, including the 58 unreached people groups in Cameroon.

Prayer Motives

For the projects of February and June, and a new project for which we are praying how to strategize our evangelism, and that we would build solid relationships with the Christians in the City Christian Library, and for a COFFEE BAR.

We are in contact with people that work with everything related to AIDS, please pray that we would know the best way to get involved in all of this area.

For direction and wisdom from God for our lives.

Please continue praying for the communication which is turning into a true battle, and also that the Lord helps us in our efforts to learn English.

For the computer we are waiting the diagnosis of the technician.

We are continuing to pray for the Panamanian families and for the retired police official, that they would have a true encounter with the Lord.

For Martin, a young Cameroon man that completed his Discipleship School in Switzerland and is now returning to that country with a group of believers to work with a church there.

THANK YOU are two very small words that contain many emotions. Thank you for your prayers, for your generosity, for your time to read our letters and to write to us. Thank you Chamigo (means “friend” in the Guarani language of the northwest of Argentina). Thank you our friends for each little and big demonstration of love you have shown toward us. Our desire is that you would feel a part of all the work that we are doing here, we love you.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR AND MAY YOU SEE THE DREAMS OF GOD BE MADE REALITY IN YOUR LIFE.
