THE SCHOOL OF ART IN MISSIONS (SAM) exists to disciple artists, restore cultures and above all to discover God the Artist and our capacity to create as his children. Two Second Semester Schools Finish for the Year

We have seen two of our second semester school’s graduate in these past two weeks. First was the graduation for the Mobile School of Cross-Cultural Missions, which finished on Friday, November 25.

The school this year had eight students from Argentina and Chile and were able to travel to a grand total of ten different countries during the practical phase of their school. Many of the students have projects to continue working in their home churches, opening missions departments, others stay to work as full-time missionaries, while others have plans to bless and serve the nations by anwering the command to “Go” as given by Jesus in Matthew 28:19. The next school is in July, 2012.

The second semester school of Biblical Studies- Core Course also finished for the year, holding its graduation on Friday, December 2. This semester there were four students that accepted the challenge to deepen their knowledge of God’s word and to change their lives through putting it into practice every day. The next school will begin on March 12, 2012.

DTS: Making God Known in the Nations

The Discipleship Training School is wrapping up the last month of the practical outreach phase of their school, making God known in different parts of Latin America and provinces in Argentina.

This semester the school was divided into three teams and one of the teams spent their first month investing in Paraguay, and at this time is in the province of Misiones, Argentina.

The second team spent one month serving in the city of Tampico, México, and are now in the city of Santiago,Chile. The last team was able to travel to Ecuador for the first month of their outreach and are now finishing their practical phase in Lima, Peru.

The work of all three teams has been of great blessing; the students have been able to share in different churches, working in church construction, sharing in children’s biblical schools, giving talks to adolescents and young adults, working in senior citizens´ homes, and in primary and high schools.

They have been doing a lot of evangelism, sharing as well in events in parks and squares, in groups that meet at different homes, in hospitals and rehabilitation centres.

The last week of November will be the end of their outreach phase and all three teams will be returning to the Corrientes base for their graduation.

God has shown Himself to be faithful time and time again and has taken care of each student and leader along each step of the way. He continues to show His heart for the nations and give each student the burden of making His name known to all.

Mobile Cross-cultural Missions School Travels to Surinam

The “Mobile Cross-cultural Missions School” spent the past months of September and October completing the practical phase of their school. During those months, the students were able to know more about God’s heart for the nations in a first-hand way. They had the opportunity to serve and share in Ecuador, Venezuela, British Guiana and Surinam. Surinam, formerly a Dutch colony, has a religious and cultural diversity of over five-thousand inhabitants, of African, Hindu, Muslim, Chinese, Brazilian backgrounds, among others. During the three weeks that the team spent in Surinam, they were surprised to observe the cultural contrast that exists there, yet at the same time the peaceful cohabitation between all of the groups.

The students were able to participate with ten different churches through activities such as presenting theatre skits, giving teachings, sharing testimonies, organizing evangelism events, visiting children’s and nursing homes, through radio and television interviews, and visiting local schools.

One particular challenge that really impacted the students and the school leaders was “depending on the Lord” in each step along the way. They were able to see His hand helping and protecting them to pass through ten different countries during their travels, whether it be by bus, boat, plane or car.

The time has arrived for us to make known all that we have learnt about the God we serve and the transformation that He has done in our lives… Three teams, 6 countries, one goal… on the 3rd of October we divided our DTs into 3 teams and we set out to impact through Gods word the following locations: Paraguay, Ecuador, Perú, México, Chile and Misiones, Argentina … The word of God renews and returns us to our original Identity in Him and who He created us to be!

The work that each team has been doing has been a real blessing to the places that they are serving in through the work being done with evangelism one on one, in the plazas, through home groups, etc.
God continues to reveal His heart for the Nations to us… Go, Forgive, Teach, reach out to the downfallen and comfort…
The call is for all!! Be a part of the Great Commision… we’re waiting for you!
Every February and July a new DTS starts on our base.

Closing of an Innovative School!!

On Friday the 14th of October 2011 we held the closing ceremony for the Fashion and Design in Missions School. It is the first school of its kind in the University of the Nations and on an international YWAM level. We really consider it a privilege that God would entrust us with the task of making it a reality and without a doubt we have been witness to His immense faithfulness from its beginning to end!

The night of the graduation saw the 3 students from Ecuador, Bolivia and Argentina each bring a close to an unforgettable stage of their lives. Now off to work for, plan and dream about the next school which will open in the first half of 2012.

FINAL NOTICE!! Rescue and Counseling School

If you are interrested in ministering the love of God within society, we would like to challenge you to take part in this years Rescue and Councelling school.
The school will start on the 22nd of March and finishes on the 02 of July. The school is very diverse and the weeks are divided between class times of practical work during the four months.

The curriculum of the schools includes:

* Biblical basis for the ministry of rescue and counseling
* Restoration of Families
* What is counseling and its’ different techniques
* How to minister to victims of sexual abuse
* How to work with traumas from the past
* AIDS / HIV
* Development of the person
* Etc, etc.

The goal of this school is to train and give tools to those that work with counseling and with people at risk. This serves to amplify their work or to start new ministries in the place where God has called them.

We have a lot of different practical times during the school. Like working in a community centre, ministering to female prisoners, children’s homes, ministering to street people and to a family with Aids, etc.

This year our focus is very much on the area of counseling, aimed at all people and age groups.

The next School of Art in Missions begins in APRIL and there are still openings. This school will give you the tools you need to evangelize and disciple in a radical and impacting way.

Topics covered in the school include: Theatre, Clown, Musical Comedy, Artisic Makeup, Tango, Argentine Folklore, Visual Arts, and MORE!! The school is broken down into four months of theoretical classes and two months of practical “outreach”. Basic knowledge of Spanish is recommended.

Outreaches !!!

In September the students of the DTS left for their first month of outreach.
They were divided into two teams, one team traveled for two weeks to Paraguay and after that they traveled to the interior of the province of Corrientes to join the other team, who were there for the whole month.
The students participated in an evangelistic campaign where they reached 9 different cities within the provinces.
Part the campaign included practical times where they were able to reach different areas of the society, communitarian works, house visits, evangelistic events in the main parks of the city, teaching Gods values in the schools and various activities with the churches,..
In all this we could see the hand of God moving and opening doors where it seemed impossible.

New challenges!!!!

Trip to Salta-Argentina and Spain…

In November we continue with the second part of the outreach and these are the places that God guided us to.
A team will be going to spend one month in the interior of Salta and also the capital itself, and the other team will be going to Girona, Spain.

We believe that if we do our maximum God will do the impossible!!

RaceFusion Fashion Show

Hey everyone!!!!
Just to let you know that we are working round the clock for our 2nd fashion show, planned for the end of November, 2009.
Hakamiah is super busy designing and sewing all of the clothing (and the designs are AMAZING!!!!) while the rest of us are creating the whole artistic performance part and working through all of the logistics. We need your constant prayers in every detail so please contact us for more information on how you can be a part of this project.
All of the funds raised from the sale of the clothing go towards Hakamiah’s trip to Mozambique, Africa to take clothing there to bless the women living in that beautiful country.
As soon as the location of the fashion show is confirmed I will be sending you all the direction to help us promote the show!! Thank you!!!
